We have partnered with Blumar to meet the travel and accommodation needs of participants of the 7th Global Forum. As the official travel agency of the 7th Global Forum, Blumar is available to help you book hotel accommodations, flights, and airport transfers. If you plan to arrive early or extend your stay to enjoy Brazil, Blumar can also assist in arranging tours.
IMPORTANT: Blumar is the only service provider authorized to make hotel bookings for the 7th Global Forum. Any other organization that contacts you to offer to make hotel bookings is not affiliated with or authorized to book hotel rooms for the 7th Global Forum. Please do not give personal or financial information to any company that contacts you to book a hotel room or make reservations through them.
Hotel Rooms
Special room rates have been negotiated by Blumar at three hotels located within 15 minutes' drive of the conference venue. Shuttle buses to and from the venue will be available for participants staying in these hotels.

Air Travel
Rio de Janeiro has two major airports: Galeão International Airport (GIG) and Santos Dumont Airport (SDU). GIG is the main international airport and SDU is primarily for domestic flights within Brazil. Several international carriers fly directly to Rio de Janeiro, and there are also numerous flight options through São Paulo and other international hubs.
Both airports are approximately 35 kms from the conference venue and designated hotels.
Local Transportation
Pre-arranged Airport Transfers
A pre-arranged airport transfer from and to GIG airport can be booked through Blumar. The cost for a transfer between GIG airport and the conference hotels or the conference venue is BRL 530.
Taxis
Taxis are available at Terminal 2 of GIG. To find a taxi, go to floor 0 (zero), Door B, next to domestic arrivals. Taxis at SDU are available outside the Arrivals Terminal.
Mobile App Services
Uber and 99 mobile apps can be used for airport transfers from both GIG and SDU, as well as transportation within Rio de Janeiro.
GIG has two Uber pick-up points
- For international flights, the pick-up point is on the Departures floor, door D.
- For domestic flights (including international connections through Sao Paulo or another city in Brazil), exit through Domestic Arrivals, turn left and look for Uber Zone Orange Sector, Green Sector, or Purple Sector.
If you are traveling internationally and wish to use Uber or 99 for local transportation, you should download the app before departure.
